How To Enjoy Vancouver Espresso

By Alison Wilcox

In this day and age the signs of the times have changed and the true coffee lover is turning to espresso for comfort. All the divine coffee based drinks are still out there to be enjoyed but if the truth be told you are finally forced to admit what the base of them all are. Nothing can ever compare with the pure, naked glory of Vancouver espresso.

There is much to be said about making espresso. It is not a simple task rather an art form. There is no comparison between it and any other coffee drink. It is an orchestra a perfectly roasted and ground beans, pressure, water and the extraction of the beautiful liquid that results from the process. Early on there were those that recognize out fabulous the taste of coffee was and who wanted nothing more to strengthen and enhance that taste.

The modern world and all the wonders it had to offer helped to make the fantasy of this lovely dark liquid a reality. The shot size amount of dark fragrant liquid with the little creamy golden cap known as creme. Experiencing the taste is a lot like tasting wine and requires preparation before you partake.

Breathe in and out deeply many times to clear out any scents that may be lingering. Inhale the aroma slow and steady from an inch or two above your cup. Let the feel of it wash over you and fully experience it. See if you can identify a hint of chocolate, citrus or floral hues.

Slowly lift the cup to your lips and take the flavorful fluid into your mouth. Do not gulp it down and make sure you are present in the moment. You want to notice the different tastes and textures as it moves across your tongue. A clean bright and slightly bitter taste is what you are looking for but nothing distasteful.

BC has so many coffee stops to choose from so make sure the ones you grace are the real deal. It is not all about the coffee when it comes to this part. Of course the menu must be fabulous and that should go without saying. You want the whole enchilada though. Pick some places that have culture to burn.

The BC weather lends itself perfectly to the warm beverage scene. There are many people who cannot think of a better way to take the chill off than with a good book and a steaming cup of their favorite espresso drink. It does not have to be a solitary happening either. It is doubtful that there is one among you has not said meet you for coffee!

People often go on vineyard touring vacations. A vacation to try out different espresso is the way to go. Do some homework on the various places that there are in BC before you set out. Make sure you leave some time to window shop and head out without a plan. That is when you are most likely to come across those sweet little places that usually go unnoticed. A vacation filled with a good dose of Vancouver espresso is something not to be missed so start preparing now.
