Choosing A BBQ Sauce Brand

By Antoinette Quinn

You do not necessarily have to wait for a hot summer day to enjoy the combination of meat, fish or vegetables and the right sauce. The kind of BBQ sauce brand you choose depends largely on the type of food and how you are cooking it. With a few tips you can get the perfect flavour combination!

In some respects it is difficult to place a recommendation because different people have different tastes. Some people like it thick and coating their meat or fish while others may want something they can dip at the side. There is no right or wrong as such but there are some factors that can affect the quality.

Pork is a good example of a food that needs the right flavour combining with it. Generally it needs something sweet as a contrast, possibly with an additional acidic ingredient such as apple or pineapple. If you are cooking ribs then a thicker coating is ideal.

Broadly speaking there are around five categories of sauce. There are the thick types that are ideal for coating meat. This is good for meats such as beef or pork that you may want to marinade for a time before you put it on a grill. There are also the sweet and smoky varieties and these are best for people who want to add that smokiness but may not necessarily have a grill near to hand or may want to boost the smokiness of the meat on the grill.

Another aspect people like is the flavour of smokiness. This is what people often associate with grilled meat and fish so it is worth checking the label to see if the particular brand has this quality. This is ideal if you are looking to enhance this when cooking on a grill.

One thing people particularly love about barbecues is the smoky flavour, that sensation of having freshly grilled food that tastes authentic. However some people may not have a grill or find it hard to get the full effect. Fortunately there are brands available that can enhance that smoky flavour.

You can find numerous brands in stores and it is good to try a range to find one that suits your particular tastes. Sometimes it may be possible to get free samples when you go to a store. These are worth doing so that you can try for yourself and see what you particularly like. If you cannot get a sample in a store then it may be possible to get one from a brand website and sent direct to you.

You should also look online for reviews of the various types of BBQ sauce brand available. This will allow you to narrow down the wide array of options available and to choose products that are likely to be closest for your needs. In short with a bit of shopping around you could find your favourite brand!
