In making passion fruit and pineapple jam, you would need some juiced pineapples, passion fruit pulp, some sugar, ground nutmeg, allspice and cinnamon. Although the recipe is simple, you would require the skill to decide the time it would take to cook the mixture and how long it would take to simmer. You should also ensure that it does not burn as it should not have a burnt taste.

After cooking to the consistency desired you ought to remove it from the heating element. You should allow it some time to cool off. After the cooling process is over, it should be put in jars made of glass which should be very clean.

Another gourmet to make is the chilli jam, it is not a fruit but it is still considered as a form of a jam. Its ingredients consist of garlic and some onions which should be sauteed to a transparent color. Their seeds ought to be removed and their top covers cut off just before putting them into the already cooking mixture and they should continue cooking till they become soft.

Fish sauce and some tamarind paste mixed together with sugar should then be poured on the cooking mixture. When it simmers for some minutes, it should be cooled and then placed into a food processor that would then blend it forming a consistency named jam. It should then be stored safely for future use in jars.

Fruit salad jam is another type that could be made at home, you would require some exotic fruits like papaya, kiwi, pineapple, pomegranate, banana, apple, orange and grapefruit. The sugar ought to be there otherwise it would not be jam. This combination should be cooked until it becomes thick and reaches the consistency desired.

Moments after cooling down, it can be placed in clean containers that have seals for storing it safe. You could also store it in a refrigerator. You could also try experimenting using other different ingredients in efforts to discover other types. Factors that may hinder this process would be the amount of skill one has and the quality of the raw materials.

The above methods are useful in making gourmet jams for home or commercial use. They are a cheap alternative to buying the industrially manufactured type and hence save lots of money that would have been spent to buy them. These home-made jams are healthy and safe to consume as no chemical is added to them during the manufacturing process. The non-inclusion of chemical based ingredients reduces the risk of getting chronic illnesses like cancer and guarantees an easy digestion. This skill could also be exploited for a profit.
