Relaxing With Redondo Beach Seafood Restaurants

By Helene Norris

Many places that one can visit in the Los Angeles area that are comfortable and inexpensive, some are trendy and others may be the place of the moment according to local media. Even if a person does not have a car, they do not have to go to the usual trendy places to get good food. The South Bay area is near not only the 405 but also it is also home to many Redondo Beach seafood restaurants.

Visiting Redondo Beach is a treat as there are places to shop and fun things to do that do not cost a lot of money. There are eateries on Pacific Coast Highway and other stretches that are established and gained excellent reviews. Yet, many would say the Redondo Beach Pier is the best place to get great seafood.

The Redondo Beach Pier is home to many small and chain restaurants that offer a wide variety of options. For anyone that wants to walk around or sit in a casual environment, there are takeout places that serve fish, shellfish, and appetizers like Buffalo wings at a reasonable price. The fish is always fresh and the prices are reasonable.

At the Pier, a number of moderately priced places offer an ocean view as well as karaoke, shows, or dancing. While the latter does not take place until the later hours, many places have meals that are fresh and range from classic favorites to innovative cuisine. Most of these places require that patrons wear a shirt in order to receive service.

Places like Old Tony's on the Pier is a long-time spot for seafood. Though a little less casual than other places, reservations are suggested, especially in the late hours and holidays. Their menu has a wide selection that ranges from appetizers to meals that are simply unforgettable. There is also live entertainment by an established list of performers.

Chain restaurants like the Cheesecake Factory and Joe's Crab Shack are also old favorites that offer many excellent food choices while dining in a cozy environment. There are also a few sushi restaurants that offer karaoke performances that are open to anyone brave enough to join the fun. Some people enjoy these performances as much as they do the food.

Anyone who comes to the Pier should be prepared for parking. There is underground parking, which is protected as well as highly recommended for anyone staying for more than a couple of hours or visiting in the later hours. Some restaurants north of the Pier offer valet parking, which is often validated by the restaurant with minimal purchase. There is also metered parking as well as street parking, which can be a little risky and requires a bit of walking.

Anyone visiting the Pier or other attraction in Redondo Beach is sure to have a nice time for a reasonable price. One advantage is that there is not as much traffic as the Westside or downtown areas and the local population is diverse and friendly. This is good for anyone that is curious about visiting Redondo Beach seafood restaurants for a special occasion or just as something different to try out with friends or someone special.
