Experience Korea With Their Food

The Korean culture and tradition has been increasingly popular in this generation. Their awesome music and great fashion style has made them very popular in this generation. A lot of people are listening to Korean music and often times Korean songs are the most requested in radio stations. We can now see Hollywood stars being a fan of some Korean pop artists.

Korea is not only about pop music and classy and fashionable garment, Korea has a rich culture that until now, has brought mystery and wonder to us. Korean food is not as popular as any other cuisine, but their unique blend and taste will help us understand more of the Korean culture.

Korean recipes are sometimes mistaken as any other Asian cuisine such as the Japanese or Chinese, but they have their own distinct taste and recipes that will make us think about Korea. Korean food and dishes are quite a handful and each of them has their own unique taste. Writing down all the Korean food and delicacies will take a while. Basically, I can introduce to you popular Korean dishes that you should try.

Almost everyone heard the word "kimchi." This is actually a Korean dish that basically never leaves the Korean dining table. Kimchi is a spicy dish and Koreans love spicy foods. Kimchi is also very easy to make that is why Koreans can easily put kimchi on their tables. The basic ingredient of kimchi is a fermented cabbage that is added with salt and pepper. Garlic, scallion, and ginger are also added to add to the Kimchis' strong flavor.

Stews are the best when cooked in Korean style. Amazingly, Korean recipes offer different soups that would fill up our hungry stomachs. The most popular stew is Kimchi stew. "Hang-over" stew is common especially among people who love to drink late at night. It is called as such because it is believed that this recipe relieves headache after a night of fun and party. This stew has Ox blood that is believed to remove hang-over symptoms together with other common stew ingredients.

If we talk about Asian dishes; seafood is always present. Seafood are also popular in Korea, making it a must-have in any Korean dining table. Most of the seafood recipes are derived from different nearby countries. One of the most popular seafood is crab that is served with rice and soy sauce for flavor. Koreans also love mud fish. The mud fish is always a favorite especially when cooked as a stew or soup.

Just like their neighbors, Koreans also love noodles and stir-fry vegetables. Everyone loves noodles and stir-fry vegetables, that is why Koreans also have their own versions of these recipes. Oftentimes, the Chinese is said to be the source of noodles and that other countries, such as Korea have copied the recipe. Jjajangmyeon is a popular Korean noodle recipe. This noodle is thick with sauce and has a unique blend. Spicy noodles are made in different style such as Spicy Seafood Noodles or the Spicy Buckwheat noodles. A simple Buckwheat noodle or Ramen is just perfect for those who hate spicy foods. You can always ask any Korean restaurant.
