Do You Crave Pancakes That Are Light?

By Helge Vang Andersen

Do you crave pancakes that are light and perfectly cooked? Just the thought of a beautiful warm pancake smothered with your favorite topping is enough to make one want to get up in the morning. Here are some tips and suggestions to help you create pancake dreams that linger in the memory for years.

While in search of the perfect pancake, one should never hurry. If you need more time, you may have to get up a little earlier in the morning, but the extra minutes can make all the difference in your cooking. Slowly blend your wet and dry ingredients a little at a time, and it is best to use a whisk. Sometimes lumps can occur, but they are easily strained with a sieve.

It is not a good idea to start cooking your batter right away. Give it a few minutes to set. This allows all of your ingredients the time to blend properly. A well mixed batter will yield fluffier results.

Many cooks enjoy using butter for cooking but butter easily burns and this can give your cakes a bitter taste. Try using something like vegetable oil, instead. Also, you may get better results with smaller cakes. In addition, thinner cakes are lighter and will cook evenly throughout.

Your spatula may work well for many things, but it is not the best choice for creating a great pancake. Instead, consider a good pallete knife. Its flexibility makes it easier to check and flip a lighter and softer pancake.

Do you crave pancakes that are light and lovely? You can make great breakfast creations when you take time to get it right. Often times, your first attempt is not perfect, but the next ones will come out much better, so be patient. The more you practice, the easier it will become.
