Popular Sources For Halal Rations

Islamic laws regulate the types of food that a believer can take in. This covers the meat and poultry products. Furthermore, this dictates the allowable methods in slaughtering an animal and processing the meat. Every Muslim household must have Halal rations that are composed of foods considered to be lawful and permissible in the Islamic dietary guidelines.

According to the guideline, as it was mentioned in Qur'an, a Muslim believer is prohibited from consuming pork, by-products of pork, blood and its by-products, animals that were dead before being slaughtered, and animals that were not properly slaughtered. Muslims are taught that animals must be treated with respect. When slaughtered, the amount of pain an animal must endure has to be minimized as much as possible.

The accepted process of slaughtering an animal is cutting its jugular vein and allowing the blood to drain. Muslims are not allowed to consume animal blood. To guarantee that the believers only take in what is allowed, the meat processing is monitored. Certifications are given to shops that religiously follow the guidelines.

Halal ration is composed of a main course and some complementary items that make up the recommended daily nutritional requirement for a person. Despite controlling what a person can eat, it must be sufficient enough for the consumer's nutrition needs. The food products must be duly secured as permissible for ingestion. The meals are placed in a secure packet complete with condiments, napkins, seasonings and utensils.

The meal inside the packets are ready to eat. The main course can be eaten cold if necessary. However, it can also be heated in various ways. The bags are sealed securely, so it can be immersed in hot water. Flameless ration heater can also be used to heat the package. The bag is safe even when exposed to high temperature.

Check the labels of every bag when looking for rations. Check its nutritional contents to protect the consumers from deficiency. Read its labels and product descriptions. Make sure that the ingredients are indeed permitted for eating. There are labels that may not directly display their certification, so you have to check closely.

Evaluate the provider's certification. A genuine certification is acquired after the provider passes the stiff procedure. The products are monitored carefully and the process is subject to Islamic rituals. Thus, when a certification is issued, it is incontestable. It is an unquestionable proof that the products are officially allowed for consumption.

More importantly, check the shelf life of the products. The maximum shelf life during delivery can reach up to ten months. Meanwhile, its minimum shelf life is about three months at delivery. Handle the items properly in order to increase its shelf life. Certain conditions, like extreme humidity or water damage, may cause spoilage.

Finally, it must be made clear that kosher certified products are not always included in Halal rations. While the two certifications are considered religious in nature, there are differences. Kosher food products are prepared in accordance to Jewish Dietary Laws. Some Kosher products may not be halal-certified, especially those that contain wine, beer batter and Kosher gelatin among other ingredients prohibited by Muslim beliefs.
